Ray Hamlett

Outdoor Activity Instructor

Ray started working in the outdoor education sector after working as a PE and Outdoor Education co-ordinator for almost 23 years in both primary and secondary schools. Prior to, and during, his teaching career he spent over 20 years in the Reserve Forces taking part in and leading adventurous expeditions in both the UK and overseas. In 2016 he left teaching and became self-employed as an adventure sports coach using the qualifications and experiences gained through hobbies and work to deliver a range of land and water-based activities.

My Why – having worked with children and adults in a range of settings I feel that every day can be a school day, not necessarily in the classroom, using the outdoors. Others spent time developing me and now its time to give back be that in a variety of environments – wet, sunny or snow-covered
